Who They Are
Downstown Airport is a private airport in a southern New Jersey community. Downstown Airport was looking to utilize their existing airport hangars as a means of saving money on their electric usage. They turned to Castle Energy for a solution. Castle Energy’s team developed the opportunity and negotiated the resources for the five-site project.
How We Helped
Through its contacts of regional investors, Castle Energy created an investment partnership to fund the multi-site project, Downstown Solar LLC. Castle Energy structured an economical PPA option that allowed for a discounted electric rate throughout a designated period of time; providing a hedge against rising electric rates. Downstown Solar LLC owns, operates, and maintains the system, while the airport serves as the host. Project installation partner: Palmieri Solar.
